When a person is satisfied with his own life, he hates anything that disrupts or changes this life, even if he is not fully satisfied with that life. For the state of affairs is impossible to persist forever, and man’s condition does not continue at a single pace all the time, we are all afraid of any change that may occur in our lives, even if this change is going for the better.
A feeling of satisfaction is, however, the only effective way that makes a person live with the darkest conditions that he may live or go through. A feeling of satisfaction, peace and serenity are all emotions that a person creates inside him first, meaning that if you have already an inner sense of satisfaction, whether this feeling exists naturally, or you are the one who creates it inside you, you will always remain satisfied with your own life and your state of affairs for better or worse.
But if you are one of those people who are always complaining and dissatisfied with their lives, or with the difficult events that may undergo, you will always remain dissatisfied about your life or your destiny that God has already predetermined for you.
But even if this life and those circumstances change to the situation that you have long wanted and wished for yourself, you will never be satisfied too, because contentment is basically not instilled within you, as satisfaction is not a feeling that descend upon us from heaven, but rather It is our inner will.
A nice and suggestive phrase bya psychologistabout a person’s inner feelings and their impact on the life around him, comes always to mind, which says: “Wherever you go, you are there.” Obviously, It is a profound phrase that clarifies that the issues and events which a person experiences extends from within him to the external environment in which he lives and not vice versa.
As for the issues and events themselves, their impact is much less than the influence of our inner feelings in dealing with them, and the most telling evidence of this is that whoever follows the events of his life through black glasses will see all the events that go through him murky, while he who followsthe same events through pink glasses will see those same events in a completely different way.
It makes no sense if you are one of those who are not satisfied with their lives, to be satisfied just because your place of residence, your work, or your friends and colleagues have changed. This is because lacking the feeling of satisfaction is your own choice from inside, and it will not change with the change of the factors that you live on from the outside, just as if you are an irritableperson, you will remain like that wherever you go.
The genuine problem remains that a person’s dissatisfaction with the fate will not change him for the better, rather it will bring countless woes upon him. According to the Qudsi hadith: (O son of Adam … if you are satisfied with what I predetermined for you, I shall rest your heart, but if you are not satisfied with whatIpredetermined for you, so by my Honor and Glory, I will incite theworld against you, so you run in it like the monsters in the wilderness, and you only get what I have predetermined for you, and you are disreputed.)
